From Wood Carving to Thangka — Our Journey
I worked with wood carving for many years. I know what an artisan‘s hands look like.
In 2019, my wife and I traveled to Tibet for our honeymoon. On an old street in Gyantse, we met Tsering, a thangka painter, and Dorje, a mala maker. Their craft was extraordinary, but no one knew their names.
That night, I asked my wife: “What if we could help them?”
Later, we returned to their village. We didn’t offer charity — we offered partnership. Fair prices. No more bargaining on the street. And we made sure their names and stories traveled with their art to the world.
